How to Protect Yourself from Rapists!

The bad news is, that, every year, thousands of women across the United States are raped. That is the cold, hard fact. However, many of these rapes could possibly have been avoided if the victims would have known some other facts: facts about how to protect yourself from rapists.

According to a survey, men who rape women look for certain qualities in their intended victims. For example, women who appear to be weak and unprotected are prime victims. When you’re by yourself- or even if you’re with other women- walk with a sense of purpose. To protect yourself from rapists, carry yourself in a manner that shows the world you know where you’re going. I don’t mean that you should stomp around in public and snarl at every man you see. Just walk in a manner that shows you know where you’re going, and that you mean business. Women who are putting on make up, rummaging through their purses, or are otherwise distracted, are said to be prime candidates for becoming rape victims. Why? Because they’re not paying attention to the world around them. Therefore, they can easily be overpowered by a man who has rape on his mind.

Rapists also tend to attack women who have long hair. Long hair gives them something to hold onto. It also gives them a way to cause pain so the intended victim will go where they want them to and do what they want. Long hair tends to give rapists an advantage in those two respects. However, a woman who is attacked by a rapist has an advantage of her own. If she can reach the man’s groin area, she can give him a bone-chilling pain that can bring him down to his knees. Then, she’ll have a chance to get away from her attacker.

The best body part to use to hit a man’s groin with is the knee. But, the foot, elbow, or even a hand clenched into a fist, are all effective at making a rapist go down to the ground in pain.

Even if you can’t reach a man’s groin area, you can always pinch the skin underneath the top of his arm as hard as you can. Believe me, pinch someone there, and it’s going to hurt badly. Or, grab his fingers and bend them back as far as you can until he lets go so you can make your escape.

To learn even more techniques you can use to protect yourself from rapists, take a self-defense class in your area. Police departments and other organizations offer these valuable classes from time to time.

You can also take up Judo or another type of martial arts so you’ll be prepared to defend yourself in case of an attack.

Men who rape women also prefer to find their victims in parking lots and in public restrooms. These two locations give the attackers their choice of victims. Yet, they are rather desolate public areas where an attack can actually go unnoticed.

To protect yourself from rapists, stay aware- especially when you’re in public places like parking lots and in restrooms. If you find yourself alone, such as in an elevator, with a strange man, get a good look at his face. Potential rapists don’t want their victims to be able to identify them.

If a strange man approaches you in a menacing manner, raise your hands in front of you and loudly shout, “Stop! Back off!” This will show the rapist that you’re going to resist him. In turn, he may actually flee and leave you alone.

Another way to help protect yourself from rapists is to carry a canister of pepper spray with you at all times. Just shouting, “I have pepper spray and I’ll use it!” to an attacker might thwart his attempts at raping you.

Normally, rapists choose women they think will be easy to attack. Therefore, if you resist becoming a man’s next victim, he might give up and you’ll be able to escape to safety.
