How to Safely Transport Your Baby’s Food
What I have found to be a very useful way to transport baby formula is to take two small baby bags, just for food. One bag should be filled with water bottles (water is what is mixed with the formula if using powdered). The other bag should include the bottle, and a zip lock bag with the formula in it. If you do not want to use a zip lock bag you can use another bottle. Just make sure that it is completely dry before adding the formula. It would also be wise to invest in a bottle warmer. These usually only cost about fifteen dollars and work really well. Then all you do is mix the formula and warm it up when baby is ready to eat.
But what do you do if your baby is already starting to eat solid baby food? If your baby is on the Gerber stage one two or three than you will have to make sure that you take along an adequate supply of baby food. Most babies should be eating about four jars of baby food a day. So for example if your baby already had one for breakfast than you should only pack three, plus you may want to include a snack. Most supermarkets sell small baby cookies that actually dissolve in your babies mouth. This work great to keep your baby calm in the car until you get the opportunity to prepare the babies food. When it comes to packing the baby food, make sure that you have at least one spoon for each jar and plenty of wipes handy.
You will also want to bring along at least two zip lock bags. The zip lock bags work great if your child does not finish his or her food. This way you can put the top back on and just store the unfinished food in the bag. The zip lock bags also work well for the spoons. Just wipe them off using a baby wipe after your baby has finished eating and put them in the bag. This will help to ensure that nothing else in your bag gets any food on it and you will remember where everything is when you get home and it is time to wash them off for the next feeding.
Whenever you travel with your baby it is always important to make sure that you take the time to plan ahead. This is really the key to making sure that you have an event free trip and that the entire family will be able to enjoy themselves.
