How to Throw an Indoor Beach Party During the Winter
The first thing that you need to do for your beach party is find decorations. This is obviously the fun part. Remember that this is a beach party so you will need to find items that you use at the beach to decorate. For example everyone has beach towels. You can take your beach towels and tack them to the walls using thumb tacks. Put a few nice beach towels on several walls and your decorations will be looking good so far. Next you will need to add some beach balls to the mix. I have found it to be a good idea to inflate a few beach balls and just leave them sitting around the room.
You will need to move some of the furniture if the room you are using has a lot. Since you are having a beach party you will not want anything to get messed up or broken. Try to move all of your furniture so that it lines the walls. For example your couches can easily be placed up against the wall. On the floor you can also place a few beach towels. Remember for a beach party you will not need a lot of decorating. Just a few items that will help to make your room feel like the beach. You can even add pictures of sea shells to the room and pictures of sand.
Now for the food. Obviously you will need to have the same types of food that you would have walking up and down the beach. Food should be set up on different tables around the room. You can have small tables that have pretzel snacks or even a veggie platter with dip. You can also have a make it yourself hot dog station. Just cook the hot dogs and place the buns and all the condiments on separate platters. You can even make and decorate a little sign that says make your own hot dog. You can do the same for hamburgers. I would recommend having the make it yourself stations in your kitchen with a small drop cloth. This way clean up wont be so stressful. Try being creative and put drinks in beach style cups. You will also need to have beach decorative plates, and forks to match.
Now you can set your date and invite your guests. You will want everyone to bring beach attire which they can change into once they arrive. Make sure the heat is turned up to a comfortable temperature. This would be over 80 so that everyone can feel like they are really at t he beach. Come up with a few games and you will have the best winter party ever.
