In October when you are getting ready to put away your mower for the season, there are a couple of things that you want to remember to do. First and foremost, put a fuel stabilizer in your gas tank. Run your engine for a few minutes so some of that stabilizer goes into the carbonator.

Some lawnmowers will have a fuel shut off switch. After you run your mower for a few minutes, turn that switch off and let it run until it runs out of fuel in the line. These two things are really key to help it start up next spring without a problem. You really want to make sure that you have fresh gas in the tank to turn that engine on.

Another important thing to do is clean your lawn mower’s air filter. After doing this, put your machine up and rub some oil on the blade. This will keep the blades from rusting on you over the winter. These simple tips will winterize your lawnmower from you and keep it running like new next spring.
