Huggies Supreme Diapers

After several bad experiences with Huggies Ultratrim (now simply called Huggies diapers) I had written off Huggies brand diapers altogether. I received a few samples in the mail of Huggies Supreme diapers as well as a package a relative gave to me. Since they were free, decided to try them on my baby and toddler. While the diaper preformed better than the cheaper Huggies Ultratrim, I was still not impressed with the leak protection and odor control of Huggies Supreme diapers.

Huggies Supreme diapers come in sizes newborn to six. Huggies Supreme diapers have a cute Winnie the Pooh design. As with Pampers Cruisers, Huggies Supreme diapers are made to move well with active babies and toddlers. In my experience they do have great flexibility and a comfortable fit. The stretchy tabs allow for the baby to grow and keep a great fit in the diaper. The tabs are Velcro and make reclosing the diaper very easy. Unlike my experience with Huggies Ultratrim diapers, I did not have any tabs to rip while closing the diaper. I do know other moms who have had this issue with Huggies Supreme diapers.

Huggies Supreme diapers tout an unbeatable leak control, but I found that they leaked just as much regular Huggies diapers. They did not last overnight and we even had leak issues during the day. As with Huggies Ultratrim diapers, there were a couple of diaper explosions that lead to gel crystals all over my child, his clothes and his bedding.

While Huggies Supreme diapers have a soft, velvety inner lining, the outside of the diaper is rather scratchy. Huggies Supreme diapers didn’t seem to irritate my children’s skin as much as Huggies Ultratrim but there was still some redness around the legs and on the tummy.

Huggies Supreme diapers do not have an aloe additive to help prevent diaper rash. I noticed a slight diaper rash, which was kept at bay with rash cream, when using Huggies Supreme diapers. The smell factor was another issue that I found with Huggies Supreme because their diapers are unscented. As soon as the diaper is soiled, the smell of urine becomes strong because it is not masked by added scent until the diaper is full. The lack of scent is great for children who might be sensitive to it.

Huggies Supreme diapers are one of the most costly diapers on the market. There are fewer diapers per package and the price is higher than other brand name diapers. I would advise parents who like Huggies Supreme diapers to stock up when they are on sale and to use coupons whenever possible.

I would not recommend Huggies Supreme diapers to parents. They are far too costly and far too ineffective against leaks to be reconsidered for use in this household. For parents who would like to try out Huggies Supreme diapers I strongly recommend signing up on Huggies’ website for developmental information tailored to the age of your child and in return Huggies will send you plenty of coupons to use.
