Hylaform: A Review of This FDA Approved Wrinkle Filler
Lots of people have heard of Botox and it can be highly productive. Botox works by paralyzing and flattening muscles and the overlying skin. Botox can be used very effectively for muscles between the eyes and for forehead but it can not be used for every area of the face. Many people notice lines along the side of thier face stretching from the bottom of the nose to the sides of the mouth. Botox can not be used for these lines because the face would be paralyzed. Similarly, for the same reason, fine lines jutting from the lips can not be treated by botox either. Very fine lines under the eyes are another region that is difficult to treat with botox.
Hylaform can be used in any of these regions because it works in a manner that is different from botox. While botox paralyzes and flattens muscles, hylaform plumps up the surface skin. That is, it works by altering and filling in the lines, rather than affecting a change in appearance by working from underneath the wrinkle. Many prefer the effects of Hylaform because the face moves as usual. The only difference is that a line, say in one’s forehead, is simply filled up and flat.
Another benefit is that, because hylaform is natural substance, it can be used to plump up any part of the face, including the lips. Restylane has been a popular choice for wrinkle filling but hylaform is likely to overtake it in popularity. One reason is that restylane is a synthetic or man made substance. Many practitioners who use restylane will test with a miniscule injection and ask the patient to wait up to a week, to see if there will be an allergic reaction. Additionally, many claim that the restylane provides a somewhat stiffer feeling in the skin that has to subside. This increased stiffness is associated with a greater incidence of swelling, bruising and pain. Since hylaform is all natural there is no great fear of allergic reaction. Practioners do not even test for it. You can be treated with hylaform on your first vist on any part of the face you wish.
Hylaform is the natural form of hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occuring essential for soft, youthful looking skin. This is why I would choose it over other options when searching for a wrinkle filler. Considering that hylaform is similiar in price and last about as long as the other options, it is a good choice. The skin does not stiffen, as it does with some of the man made fillers. All in all, hylaform works just as well as any of the options but it has the added benefits of virtually no chance of allergic reaction, a more natural feel and less pain following application. Hylaform has more practical applications than botox and none of the risks associated with restylane. Expect to hear alot more about hylaform, as it grows in popularity. Now that you know the benefits of hylaform consider asking your doctor about this new wrinkle filler.
