I Love My Arm & Hammer Baking Soda
My first memories of Arm & Hammer baking soda are of my mother using it as a toothpaste of sorts. She simply wet her toothbrush and dipped it into baking soda. Baking soda is an excellent plaque remover and teeth cleaner. I use it for this purpose when I run out of ‘regular’ toothpaste.
The most noticeable feature of Arm & Hammer baking soda is the yellow box it comes in. The box is brand specific and easy to see. It stands out from the rest on the grocery shelf. That is nice. The print is easy to read on it, too.
My Arm & Hammer baking soda is nothing fancy to look at. It is simply some white powder. There is nothing to describe regarding that feature. I would not consider that a drawback.
Arm & Hammer baking soda comes in different sizes. It is more cost effective to choose the larger size, I have found. Baking soda lasts a long time, so it is very economical. It can be substituted for quite a variety of more expensive products.
It truly is an amazing product.
There are so many ways that I use Arm & Hammer baking soda, it is hard to decide where to start (in addition to the dental secret previously mentioned). It can be used in the kitchen, for medicinal purposes, for pet care, for auto work, etc.
As far as using it in the kitchen, it is great for removing strong odors from my hands. For instance, after chopping garlic, I simply wet my hands and rub a bit of my Arm & Hammer baking soda on. I scrub for a bit. I do not need soap.
My Arm & Hammer baking soda can be used as a meat tenderizer. I simply rub some baking soda into the meat. I let the meat sit in the refrigerator for about three hours, and then rinse it off. How easy is that? And, there is no after taste.
My Arm & Hammer baking soda can also remove fish odors from fish. The process is the same as tenderizing, only I let it sit for about an hour. Then I rinse and pat dry.
I use my Arm & Hammer baking soda as a yeast substitute when I need it. I combine equal parts of Vitamin C powder and baking soda. What is even better, no prebake rising is necessary.
A dash of Arm & Hammer baking soda into a tomato-based sauce (or other highly acidic food) will reduce its acidity. That is much cheaper than any alternative I have seen.
My Arm & Hammer baking soda is a great fire extinguisher of small fires. In fact, it is the main ingredient in fire extinguishers.
I leave an opened box of my Arm & Hammer baking soda in my refrigerator. It helps fight airborne odors very efficiently. I shake the box weekly to distribute the soda evenly.
I love using my Arm & Hammer baking soda to ‘rub out’ countertop knife cuts. It also removes stains. I just make a paste of 2 parts baking soda to one part water. Then, I put some on a cloth and scrub away. It is very easy. This mixture is a great substitute for the more expensive brand varieties.
My Arm & Hammer baking soda is great for cleaning my microwave. All I do is put a couple tablespoons in 1-cup water. I put that in the microwave and cook on high for about 3 minutes. I remove the container. Then, I just wipe the interior down with a damp towel.
I have used my Arm & Hammer baking soda to clean clogged drains, cutting boards, toilets, and dishwashers. I love using it as a carpet deodorizer and save a lot of money by doing that. It is also great for removing carpet stains. It is a drawer deodorizer. It removes many odors, actually. My Arm & Hammer baking soda can even make watercolor paints. Medicinally, many remedies are available by using my Arm & Hammer baking soda. The list goes on and on.
I cannot think of any drawbacks to my Arm & Hammer baking soda. It is far too versatile, practical, and economical for me.
Whoever invented baking soda deserves a medal. Thank you to Arm & Hammer for manufacturing baking soda. I love my Arm & Hammer Baking Soda.
