Ideal Wedding Venues on Portsmouth’s Seacoast

The seacoast is a great place to get married, and there are numerous venues to choose from when you finally are ready to take the plunge. These three however, each have a unique charm about them that sets them apart.

First, there is the magnificent Courtyard Marriot located near the heart of downtown Portsmouth. Numerous function rooms are available, as well as the typical amenities that come with having a wedding reception in a hotel. An elegant bar hosts many wedding receptions, and a large banquet hall would be ideal for wedding dinners. The hotel is also located mere minutes away from some of the best sopping that the area has to offer, as well as great restaruants. Although the Courtyard is more of a traditonal venues, the upscale accomodations set it apart from all the others.

Second, there is the quaint and charming Portsmouth Harbor, bed and breakfast. A mere stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of Route 1, this venue has more of a homey feel and would be ideal for small parties and private functions. A beautiful white manor is accentuated by the nearby harbor and grand, towering pine trees and oak trees. Old fashioned rooms and architecture makes this bed and breakfast a perfect place for a formal reception and wedding. With the harbor close by, waterfront receptions are a very common sight. The Kittery Outlets are right down the road, as is the lovely downtown of Portsmouth.

Finally, a less conventional place to hold wedding events, is the Redhook Brewery and Factory. Although not a typical palce to have a wedding or reception, the folks here are willing to accomodate your every need. A large dining room is available, as well as the brewery’s first class kitchen and cooks. From the outside, the brewery looks like a factory, but inside is a without words. Rich wood trim and gorgeous mirrors welcome you and lead you to the main gathering area. Beer lovers will enjoy the numerous styles of beer on tap, including the company’s signature ales and lagers. A full bar in located inside the expansive convention center and would be ideal for holding a large reception. If the weather is pleasant, there a large green has been known to play host for a number of casual gatherings and parties. Also, easy acess from Route 95 makes it a a great place to meet before the big event.

Of all places to get married, none rivals the beauty and charm of a place like the Portsmouth area and the surrounding seacoast. Plenty of choices are available for those looking for that special place, and the three above should be some of your first choices. Don’t forget to look at the beautiful scenery, and remember that fall and spring are the most popular times to get married, so book early and enjoy the seacoast!
