If Tomorrow Never Comes

If you were to learn that tomorrow you would die, how differently would you live your life in the day that follows?

What if they tell you it’s not tomorrow, but perhaps a week from now – or 6 months from now, or even less than a year to live…what then? How differently would you live your life if you knew you were going to die?

Would you forgive everyone you are currently holding a grudge against? Would you be sure to tell all those you love how very much they mean to you? Would you worry about things like heavy traffic, ringing phones, or past transgressions?

Or would you focus more on seeing and feeling the beauty in the world, enjoying the time you have left, sharing those special moments with those who matter most.

Now, think about how you would spend that last day of your life, knowing tomorrow you would die…and then, what if you wake up the next morning, and suddenly, you are told you are not going to die.

Would you now go back and take back the forgiveness you gave to another the day before?

Would the worry and bother of the world come back into your heart again? Would you suddenly forget how much those you love mean to you?

When tomorrow never comes – the problems of the day seem so insignificant…as though the only time that matters is the here and now.

Guess what?

We have no guarantees that tomorrow will ever come. You ARE going to die. Morbid, I know. But the point is – you may live another 50 years, or you could die as soon as you finish reading this sentence – you don’t know.

You never know…..

The only thing that does matter is the here and now.

The past is not real. The future is not set.

Here and now – NOW, is all there is.
