Keep Ants Away with Chalk

Every season brings good and bad. When it’s winter, the snow is beautiful, but it’s not fun to dig your car out of it. Springtime comes and many people begin to worry about tornadoes and flooding. When summer rolls around, the weather is lovely, but all the bugs come out to play. Before you know it, you have flies in your house, mosquitoes all around you outdoors, and you have to start battling them as well as ants or other pests. Many people are turning away from all the chemicals normally required to keep the yard and home free of bugs and, if you’re on that list, you’ll appreciate something that will definitely keep ants at bay. You don’t have to use chemicals, smelly sprays, or other irritating products. Just use chalk!

White chalk works great to keep ants out of your pet’s food dish or even out of food cabinets. It’s not really a well-known fact but ants won’t walk over a chalk line. Maybe they think it’s poison; maybe they just don’t like the way it feels on their feet.We don’t have to understand the psyche behind it; we can just thank goodness that it works. No longer will you have to worry about going to get food from the cabinet and finding ants swarming all over your groceries. Just use chalk and you’ll be ant-free!

Not everyone has a piece of chalk lying around the house but you can purchase it at a place that sells other kids’ art supplies, or you can buy it online. Use the chalk in the most simple manner by just drawing a line where you don’t want ants to cross. Draw a rectangle of chalk around the pet’s food dish, around the perimeter of a food cabinet, or elsewhere in the home. You’ll see that ants will not cross the line – ever. When needed, just reapply the chalk.

Use the chalk to make a line in front of a kitchen or bathroom sink, in front of an entryway door, around the refrigerator, around the trash can, or elsewhere in your home. You’ll appreciate how cheap a piece of chalk is, and how well it works to rid your home of ants. Go get a pack of chalk and you’ll be ready for the upcoming summer. Or, break out the cinnamon without having to go shopping for chalk. It works in the same manner; sprinkle it to make lines that ants won’t cross.
