Keeping Your Makeup on in the Summer

It is getting hot outside and looking and staying your best can be a challenge especially when the humidity and heat is at its extreme. It can ruin your summer make up. The foundation on your face begins to melt or your powder looses against the battle of sweat that is collecting on your forehead. But don’t fret, there are beauty tips that can help over come these potentially hazardous situations and makeup meltdowns.

First and foremost, if possible, skip using foundation in extreme heat. Try tinted moisturizer instead. If you must wear foundation, focus more on the center of your face than rather around the hair line. Oil free foundations work best during the hot summer days. Diluting your foundation with oil free moisturizer also helps your skin feel and hold up better when the temperature rises.

Lightly dust your face with a little but of loose powder. If you wear blush, use it sparingly. The sun can cause your face to have a natural glow which is just as gorgeous and demands attention. If you find your self perspiring on your face, it is best to blot the sweat spots with non powdered blotting papers or a clean tissue pressing lightly into the moist areas.

It may become necessary to remove your under eye foundation under certain circumstances. A powder buildup may occur, making your eyes look a mess. Remove the foundation or power with a clean cotton swab. Do not put anymore on unless it is absolutely necessary. Reapply loose powder only. If you apply pressed powder and begin to sweat, the powder may clump and cake up. This is not a pretty sight. For ones with blemishes on their face, try a nighttime treatment so there is less reason to apply make up in the morning. Just know that make up that is oil free may your skin drier if you already have a problem with oily skin.

Not only must you keep your skin looking good, also keep your lips protected and moisturized. Moisture rich lipsticks and lip balm that has an SPF in it is highly recommended.
