It is always a good idea to make dining in a restaurant a positive leaning experience for kids. Giordano’s provides a comfortable atmosphere with friendly servers that make dining there a joy. Best of all the food at Giordano’s appeals to all ages. They are known for their deep dish Chicago style pizza. Ed Debevic’s is another great kid and family friendly restaurant in Chicago. Ed Debevic’s is a retro inspired diner that will keep your kids entertained. Waiters dress up as nerds, greasers, bobby soxers, and almost any character you can imagine from the 1950’s and 1960’s. They sing and dance through dinner and are notorious for their “bad attitude.” Ed Debevic’s is one restaurant where your kids will definitely not be the loudest or the grumpiest person in the room. The menu at Ed Debevic’s is traditional American diner food and sure to appeal to kids eating out. They serve up a killer grill cheese that is one of my favorites. You will also find other kid friendly menu items like chicken fingers, hamburgers, mac and cheese, French fries, and lots of ketchup. For more adult fare you will find diner style meatloaf and chicken potpie. Ed Debevic’s is located at 640 North Wells Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60610. Don’t call for reservations, but if you want to call and schedule a party for your kid you can reach then at (312) 664-1707.

Rainforest Caf© is one of the most kid friendly restaurants in the city of Chicago. The entire design was geared towards kids and fantasy. The Rainforest Caf© is a man made jungle in the middle of the skyscraper jungle of Chicago. Children will be in awe of the waterfalls, fake vegetation, and cartoon like animals placed throughout the restaurant. There are large aquariums throughout the kid friendly restaurant. Tropical fish add even more color to this imaginative setting. Although Chicago is a notoriously expensive city, Rainforest Caf© is a very affordable restaurant to dine at with your children. I often see coupons in the Sunday Chicago Tribune and online that let kids eat for $1.99 with the purchase of an adult meal. Rainforest Caf© is located at 605 North Clark, Chicago, Illinois, 60610. Call ahead for large groups at (312) 787-1501.
