Kindergarten Birthday Games, Food, and Activities
If your kindergartner will be having a birthday party and inviting kindergarten friends, consider the following fun birthday party games, activities, and food. You’ll create special kindergarten memories that will last a lifetime.
Story Book Classroom Gift
Before your child’s birthday party, consider doing something nice for his or her kindergarten class. In honor of your kid’s birthday, consider donating a book to the kindergarten class. Write your son or daughter’s name in the front cover of the chosen book, the current date, and any other birthday sentiments you and your child want to include.
If every kindergarten parent donated a book in honor of their child’s birthday, the kindergarten class would have many new books for story time. Your child’s kindergarten teacher will appreciate the book, and so will every child in the class.
Time Capsule Poster Board Activity
When the day of your kid’s birthday party arrives, have plenty of crayons, washable markers, and colored pencils on hand, as well as a large posterboard. Place the posterboard on a table, or place it on a floor with a hard, smooth surface. Pass out coloring supplies, and have each birthday party guest color a birthday picture along with their name. When the birthday poster is finished and the party is over, roll up the posterboard and place it in a protective cardboard tube. Many years later this birthday party poster will bring back fond memories of kindergarten and a very special birthday party.
Sticker Fun
All kids love stickers, especially kindergartners. If you want a time-consuming fun activity for your kid’s birthday party, consider providing party attendants with washable markers and sheets of blank peel-off labels. Kindergartners will have fun creating their very own stickers, and while they’re creating their stickers you can prepare the birthday party meal.
Cheesy Spaghetti Casserole
Don’t serve the birthday party food every other parent serves. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and frozen pizza are favorite foods of kindergarten kids, but consider different and delicious food for your child’s celebration. Most kids love spaghetti. Consider making cheesy spaghetti casserole. Although this spaghetti dish contains lots of cheese, this casserole is anything but cheesy. This tasty casserole is sure to satisfy the hunger of your kid’s birthday party guests. Kindergartners love this easy-to-make casserole, so much so, their parents will probably ask for the recipe.
Ingredients
8-ounce box spaghetti
1 pound ground meat
1 can cheddar cheese soup, undiluted
1 package dry cheese mix from a box of macaroni and cheese
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
Garlic to taste
Onion powder to taste
1 cup potato chips, crushed
Preparation
Brown the ground meat until it’s no longer pink, and drain any grease. Stir in the undiluted cheddar cheese soup, dry cheese mix, undrained tomatoes, and garlic and onion powder to taste. While the meat is browning, break the spaghetti into bite-size pieces, and cook it according to label directions. Drain the spaghetti, and combine it with the meat mixture. Spoon the spaghetti mixture into a 13-x 9-inch casserole dish, and top it with crushed chips. Bake it in a 350-degree oven for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is hot and bubbly. Allow it to set for several minutes before serving.
Marshmallow Cream Dippers
This is a fun and tasty birthday party treat that kindergartners absolutely love. Provide every kindergartner attending the birthday party with a six-section muffin tin. Fill one cup with marshmallow cream and another with pretzel sticks. Fill the remaining four cups with tasty toppings such as peanuts, candy sprinkles, chocolate chips, nuts, coconut, or small candies. The kids can dip the pretzels into the marshmallow cream and dip the sticky pretzels into any of the tasty toppings in their own personal dipping tin. Double dipping is encouraged with this yummy birthday party treat!
Candy Jewelry for Boys or Girls
If marshmallow cream dippers aren’t appealing to your kindergartner, consider an activity such as candy jewelry making. Provide the kids with o-shaped cereal, candy with holes in the center, and licorice whips in which to string the goodies. Kindergarten kids can enjoy making edible necklaces, bracelets, and anything else their imaginations dream up.
