They were alone in her dark bedroom again for the first time since the day they’d met, three days ago. They lay warm under soft black sheets, talking, holding each other. They’d grown so close, so fast…Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½

She lay her head on his chest, feeling his heartbeat beneath her cheek, like a slow, soothing lullaby. Closing her eyes she made a silent wish to herself that this flawless moment would last forever. He glanced down at the wave of auburn hair fallen over her eyes, whose color nearly matched his own. Both of them had silvery-blue eyes that often seemed to mesmerize and taunt people, though his had a hint of forest green to them.�¯�¿�½

She tilted her face towards his as he put a strong arm around her. He smelled so sweetly of the cologne he’d picked up and sprayed on himself when they got to her house. She breathed in deeply, making sure she would remember that scent for the rest of her life. With the voice of a thousand angels, he spoke.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½

“What’s the difference between loving someone and being in love with them?” he asked her.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½

She started to respond slowly. She really didn’t know what she could say. She was too distracted by hoping, praying, that this was the moment she’d been waiting for.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½

“I love you,” he said.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½

“I love you,” she said, with a tear in her eye. And they both realized that love is forever.
