Late Night Eats in Chicago
Suffering from that dreaded disease known as night owlism, I am often on the search for good, fun late night eats. After years of working odd hours and still trying to have a social life I am always happy when I find somewhere like 10pin Bowling Lounge. Every city seems to have one of these late night bowling alleys. In Atlanta I even found a twenty-four hour one. The best thing about10pin Bowling Lounge has to be their late night eats though. Whether you are up for late night bowling or not, the food is definitely worth a trip to check them out. Just be sure you remember that they are not open twenty-four hours. On Friday nights 10pin Bowling Lounge closes at 2:00am and on Saturday nights they close at 3:00am. The late night eats at this cool Chicago bowling alley are truly a unique find. The menu is entirely gourmet finger foods. No need to suffer though greasy burned bacon from The Waffle House anymore. (Do they have Waffle House in Chicago?) The shoes are also a great bonus at 10pin Bowling Lounge. No more worn out pleather creations with glow in the dark shoelaces in a fancy city like Chicago. For men there are black and white wing tips and for the ladies you get a swing inspired creation to slide your feet into. 10pin Bowling Lounge is located at 330 North State Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60610. Although this bit of information may not fit into the late night eats category, if you want to save a little money you can bowl for up to 3 hours for just $15 on Sundays at 10pin Bowling Lounge. 11:00am to close every Sunday they offer this great deal. I have to say that I live near another bowling alley and it is $65 an hour for the lane, so this is a extremely good bargain and a great retro way to spend a cold winter Sunday in the windy city. They can be reached at (312) 644-0300.
Firefly is located at 335 North Halsted Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60657. Firefly is a great lounge type place to take in some fancy late night eats in Chicago. The walls are red, the tables are black lacquer, and the late night food is French. Yes, late night eats in Chicago that are French inspired creations. Only in Chicago right? Well, maybe in New York as well. I have to say you should check out the retro inspired Parmesan deviled eggs. I have tried making different recipes of these myself and they just don’t taste as good as Firefly’s. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Salmon dish served with crunchy vegetables. If you are in the mood for some quality late night eats in Chicago this is the place to go. Sometimes a greasy burger just won’t cut it! Firefly is open Monday, Wednesday through Saturday from 5:30pm to 1:30am. On Sundays they are open from 5:30pm to 12:30am. This is great late night eats place to dine with other people in the food service industry who are just getting off from a late night of work in their own restaurant. It is not unusual to see cooks and chefs dining on late night eats in this Chicago hot spot. Firefly can be reached at (773) 525-2505.
Tempo CafÃ?© is a twenty-four hour establishment that gives traditional late night eats in Chicago a great name. They are located in the Gold Coast neighborhood of downtown Chicago. The menu is full of great traditional dishes like omelets, hash browns, salads, soups, burgers, and well anything American you would hope to see late night at a twenty-four hour diner! Considering their ritzy location I was happily surprised to find Tempo CafÃ?©’s prices were very reasonable. I guess this is due to the large turnaround of diners they see on a daily basis. They offer great deluxe sandwiches that are served with fries, slaw, soup, and fruit all for just $8.00. Now that is a great deal for some late night eats. Chicago is notoriously expensive. A large Starbuck latte will cost you over $5.00! Tempo CafÃ?© is located at 6 east Chestnut Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60611. They can be reached at (312) 943-4373. Bets of all Tempo CafÃ?© is an Internet hot spot, so you can surf the web with your late night eats!
