Leavenworth Kansas Car Dealerships
The dealerships that I went to were as follows, Danny Zeck Ford, Luxury and Imports, and Speedway Pontiac Buick. I choose these dealerships because they are the largest and most well known in town. I went to these dealerships saying I was buying a car for my fiancÃ?©e, which is true, but I don’t plan on purchasing until next year, I wanted to get the real feel of the dealership so I went as a buying customer. I was actually rather pleased with most of my visits; I wasn’t met with high pressure sales techniques, no pushy salesmen, and no harassment to buy. So read on and decide for yourself where you want to shop for your next car.
Danny Zeck Ford was the first stop I made; this lot is fairly large and has a lot of sales people on the floor at all times. Friendly people make it easy to get right into a car and drive off the lot for your test drive. Their new car lot of course has all Ford brands and they always have lots in stock. And if you have any special requests they will gladly try to do what ever they can to help you find the perfect car.
Ford’s used car lot was my favorite part about the Ford dealership. They offer many different kinds of cars to choose from and lots of decent deals. Also they are willing to make deals with their customers, I have gone there many times and offered below what they were asking and they were willing to meet my price about 80% of the time. They have always been easy to deal with.
A couple of things I don’t like about Danny Zeck’s Ford, one their website, is not that great. It is ok for most users but if you want an easy layout, nice appearance and simple to use website, this is where they fail. Their windows popup to display the car search is horrible; I didn’t like the website at all. The other downfall to this dealership in my eyes was the fact that they push hard to get you to finance through them. I was “shopping” for a car for my fiancÃ?©e and when it came to paperwork they really push hard for the sale to go through their office. Other than this one flaw I think they are running a good clean operation over there, and should be one of your first stops if you are looking for a new car. Just don’t let them push you around when it comes to paying for your new car make your own decision and stick with it.

Luxury and Imports was the next dealership on my list, I have to say for salesmen I was unimpressed, they let me walk around for a long time never even acknowledging my presence. Then when I finally did ask for some help they didn’t seem to thrilled to help me, hey it’s their commission not mine if they are content to not make money they can sit at their desk all day and I will buy somewhere else.
Luxury did however have a wide variety of cars to choose from, this was the highlight of my experience with this business I regret to say. Prices are a pretty much blue book and they don’t do much in the way of deals. I tried to talk down a 2002 eclipse from 10,999 to 10,000 and they wouldn’t budge. I guess their client base must be people who accept what they see and don’t try to save money.
I have to compliment their website its easy to use and fairly good layout, I would change one thing and that is tell more about the cars on the webpage. This is probably a clever sales trick to get us to come down to your lot to be met by your rude sales people but I am more likely to come if I know the cars details.
So on the good notes about Luxury and Imports they have a large selection of diverse cars, and their website is one of the best I visited. However once you get to their lot and start browsing you might want to bring refreshments, you never know if someone will want to help you out. Make sure you bring your wallet too; these guys are definitely in the business to make money off the consumers. Side note I didn’t like that if the car you want to test drive is a sports car you have to take a salesperson with you, really don’t like that at all. I would say out of the three dealerships this was the one I liked the least, poor salesmanship coupled by high prices and unwillingness to lower their prices make this my last pick.

Speedway Pontiac Buick was my last stop where I was met with a friendly sales team who I would say were a little pushy but helpful. They offered me a drink and a snack which I politely turned down, but I plan on stopping bye another day when I am hungry for that free snack. Not a lot to say here a small lot with some used cars some new car a little mixed and matched. The lot was cramped with cars and didn’t have a lot of selection to choose from. Test drives were standard, no special rules and they didn’t make me take a sales rep even though I am only 23, and I liked that fact.
Ups and downs about this place, great sales staff really nice and easy to deal with if you are assertive and take the lead. If you don’t they can be a little pushy I am sure, I would say women shopping alone might want to re-think stopping here, I cant say they would try to take advantage but I could see it happening. Downs are that the website doesn’t even work, I couldn’t pull it up I get the infamous page can not be displayer error. That doesn’t say much for you if you can’t even keep you webpage running. I couldn’t pre-browse the cars so I didn’t know what I was there to look at, this is probably costing them a lot of money. But overall not to bad I think the offer of a delicious treat made me impartial to them, but not to bad of a place. If they get their website working I might be inclined to buy from them even.
