Long Island has no shortage of stimulating events this October. Harbes Family Farm Fall Festivals

The whole family can enjoy the crisp autumn air and lovely harvest scenery at Harbes Family Farm Fall Festivals in Jamesport. There will be pumpkin patches, Fall decorations, hayrides and a wild west corn maze that is 8 acres large. There are surprises throughout the maze and there is even a mini-maze for the younger kids. This beautiful rural setting overlooks farm fields and a pond. taste fresh apple cider made locally, eat a candy apple, pick your own seasonal fruits and vegetables including cornstalks and gourds and bales of hay for decorating your Halloween yard and home. There are restrooms and plenty of parking and picnic tables where the whole family can enjoy the autumn air and landscape. There will even be some scheduled music including banjo playing.

“Valazquez, Goya & Manet” By Thomas Germano

Attend a slide show and lecture by Farmingdale State’s Professor Thomas Germano. The professor will explore the art of two of the greatest Spanish painters from art history, Diego Velazquez and Francisco de Goya. The discussion will include an in-depth analysis of the magnus opus by each artist. There are no tickets required and seating is limited to first come, first served basis.
