Magic Chef Microwave Review

The Magic Chef microwave is a wonderful thing. In what I would classify as my second major purchase from a recent trip to Menards I bought a Magic Chef microwave. Before you lovely readers out there ask, well yes a microwave is a significant purchase for someone from my socioeconomic background. I need this baby to last a good twenty years! I love my Magic Chef Microwave if I were a part of some creepy polygamist cult I would demand that one of my wives be my microwave. In all sincerity, let’s talk about the wonderful features of this thing. The 990 W model has a cooking power of 900 watts according to microwavecooking.com. A good microwave is essential for any college student as they struggle through dorm life as if we already didn’t know that. The 990 is also nine cubic feet in diameter. I don’t know what the average of that statistic is for a microwave, but it sure sounds impressive. The 990 is typically meant for your countertop, unless you can rig something else up and that is your prerogative as the buyer.

Maybe I am getting a little too excited here, but just having a microwave that rotates well and has an actual lighting system that works makes me overjoyed. The parts for the Magic Chef are made by PartSelect. According to Part-Select you can get their parts anywhere online. Of course according to Elite-Deals.com Magic Chefs are the rarest of creatures so to speak, but of course they can be found on their website. I think that it is difficult to find one akin to the model that they are offered on their website. Mine isn’t stainless steel and isn’t worth two hundred bucks of course. I must be missing out on something.

Magic Chefs typically cost somewhere in the neighborhood of forty to fifty bucks. We don’t have a Costco in the area, but I was discussing my Magic Chef with someone from another state one day and the price they paid at Costco is very close to the one I paid at Menarrds. I have heard others say they were rather difficult to clean, but I have not come across this problem. Durability, which I referenced above, is almost a crap shoot with any product so in other words after asking around I could not get a set estimate on a Magic Chef’s durability. I highly recommend this product. I don’t think any of you will regret this purchase. Of course price does vary according to which model you buy so be careful folks.
