Making Money with EBay
Of all the online auctions, eBay is still reigning champ and a great way to earn money at home. Although most just dabble in eBay as a way to get rid of unwanted items or to supplement their income, there are those who make a real business out of it. Believe it or not, there are actually eBay millionaires out there! With the advent of the “eBay Store”, the possibilities are endless. Most likely, you won’t be buying a yacht anytime soon with your eBay earnings, but there is no reason why you can’t make some decent money.
The greatest thing about eBay, and everyone will agree, is that you can find anything you want on it. That’s because there are so many different types of buyers out there- use that to your advantage. Do you still have games from your old Commodore 64 hidden away in your attic? That’s not junk, my friend. Someone out there is on eBay right now looking for it. It’s amazing what people will buy, too. All you really need is a computer and a digital camera. (The digital camera is even optional, but it really helps if you post a picture of the item you are selling.)
Starting an eBay account is easy and free. You can do it in just a few minutes. From there, you’re ready to go. Take a picture of the item you want to sell, save it onto your computer, then log into your account. Press “Sell” and from there, everything is self explanatory. (eBay is amazingly user friendly) You will write a catchy title for your item (ex: Lot of Classic Commodore 64 Games- RARE) then you will write a more detailed description of the item. Next you will post the minimum price you will accept (the lower the starting price, the better chance of taking bids) and upload the picture you took of the item. After you’re done, press “submit” and your auction is instantly online!
Those who are really making money off of eBay are buying items wholesale and reselling them with a markup. This is a great idea if you have a little capitol to invest. Another idea is to sell original items. Do you have a talent for crafts? Why not make a business out of it on eBay? Or maybe you are a great artist. There are many artists who make quite a bit on eBay by sketching original artwork of celebrities or famous characters. Collectors love that kind of stuff. The possibilities are really endless. Just think of it as a virtual store with no property taxes!
