Males Not Receiving the Respect from Females They Deserve

We’ve seen it in the work places, and we’ve seen it around our own homes as children, teenagers, and even as husbands. The gender wars rage on. One of the wars, in particular, consists of a man’s work never being done by a woman, or getting done with some complaining or whining about how it’s a man’s job. The women have fought against it in the early part of the century, but it seems as though they are now using it and don’t even realize it: Discrimination based on gender. Men do not have it fair, because in work places and sometimes in their own homes the women make them do work, such as taking out the trash or picking up animal droppings, that is just too dirty for themselves to take care of.

Ever since the early 1900s, woman started believing in equal gender rights. After having huge debates over the constitution, as it is written “all men are created equal,” leaving out the important part of women as well, the women of decided to strike up and obtain equal rights as men. This included playing sports, voting, and various other activities. After years and years, women all over finally have a lot more rights such as voting, freedom, and respect as men do.

In our present day, women still have fairly equal rights as men; however, does it not look as though some of our male friends have gotten mistreated by the women in power? In the workplace, has there never been a time a woman in charge of the restrooms has refused to take out the trash while claiming it was a “man’s” duty? Or has there never been a time at the house a woman refused to pick up their own pet’s poop while stating how disgusting it looks? I say for all the men out there, women have taken their opportunity to rise to attain new goals and standards for regular, daily living. But it seems as though some woman have taken this too far.

“The next day, when I met with the boys at the oak tree, I told them that when I grew up, I was going to be a major league baseball Player. They all laughed at me and said I could never be a baseball player because I was a girl. I told them that they were all wrong, and that I would show them,” (Forte). This was in the days before women obtained the so called “equal” rights as men. This is just one of many good examples of how women were treated not so long ago, earlier in the 1900’s. This was also probably a good example of why women wanted to speak up for their rights.

My own opinion comes in when I can state how badly I was treated versus the women in the workplace for a company I once worked for. They would ask someone to clean out the restrooms, take out the trash, break down boxes, or clean some really dirty material we had for use in the work place. Almost every single time, when there wasn’t someone else there with me, the managers would ask me to take it out, instead of my co-worker woman. They tried asking the women who worked with me thousands of times to take it out, but every time they asked, the women just told them how they got their nails done, they didn’t want to hurt themselves, or they just thought it wasn’t their job to take the trash out. This was obviously not fair on my part, nor any man’s part, in the same situation.

Many people would like to argue against my analysis and call me sexist, but they may not be looking at the big picture here. Everyone would surely agree that things shouldn’t be based on gender, so why do we have women who refuse to do certain jobs that men are supposedly supposed to do? A friend of mine has written a extraordinary paper on why there is discrimination with having women not being in power because men were there first, and man will almost likely always be president or CEO of companies and the US. All that is based on sex discrimination, however if the women refuse to do simple tasks such as taking out the trash, or are complaining of doing something because they just had their nails done, I don’t think they are ready to take on something so challenging. So I would have to agree with the fact that women are not in power seeing as how they do not seem ready for the challenge. The real answer to the women in my work place to “I can’t clean that, I just had my nails done,” is that they should never have gotten them done in the first place, knowing perfectly well, they’d be going to work that night and cleaning something extremely dirty.

Gender arguments will probably always rage on. This one issue however, hasn’t even become apparent in our lives today. Many people cannot see this gender issue yet as it hasn’t affected enough people to make an issue of it. But when discussed, it can become quite obvious, the troubles I’m sure all men go through sometimes. The women must be stopped now before they make society cater to their every whim!
