Masseuse Comes to Waverly Ohio

Waverly, Ohio in Southern Ohio is growing by leaps and bounds. I remember when Wal-Mart first came to Waverly the town was filled with excitement at the idea of having a store where we could go and purchase practically everything we needed and wanted from bread to a pair of jeans or a desk. Since that day Waverly has continued to grow with the addition of many other businesses and even a YMCA and a health food store. Now Waverly has a masseuse she is from Waverly and has brought her practice to her home town, Tiffany Baker attended Ohio College of Massotherapy in Akron Ohio. Her business is simply called Tiffany’s it is located in within Artistic Images at 206 East Second Street. Her hours of operation are Mondays 1p.m-6 p.m , Tuesdays 9a.m to 8 p.m, Thursday 1-8p.m, Friday 9a.m to 4p.m and Saturday 8am – 1 p.m.

Tiffany offers different types of massage such as neuromuscular therapy also referred to as Trigger Point therapy. The American Academy of Pain Management recognizes this form of massage therapy as an effective treatment for back pain caused by soft tissue injury such as a muscle strain.

Neuromuscular massage therapy technique neuromuscular therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. The massage therapy pressure is usually applied with the fingers, knuckles, or elbow. Neuromuscular therapy will feel painful at first, but the pressure of the massage should alleviate the muscle spasm.

She also does Deep Tissue Massage Therapy which is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibers of the muscles, tendons and fascia. Deep tissue massage is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles not with the grain. Deep tissue massage helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue. Deep tissue massage usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage. However, when the massage is done correctly you should feel better than ever within a day or two.

There is also Swedish massage the term “Swedish Massage” refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management. It also has many specific medical uses. Swedish massage techniques include: long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration, effleurage, and shaking motions.

There are many benefits of massage therapy. It can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improves circulation, increases joint flexibility, reduces mental and physical fatigue and stress and promotes faster healing of injured muscle tissue. It helps to give a better night sleep and reduces anxiety. These are just a few of the many benefits of massage therapy. Waverly is proud to welcome Tiffany’s to town. The many clients that will be visiting Tiffany’s are really going to love having a Masseuse in the neighbor.
