Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish vs OPI World Collection Nail Lacquer

Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish and OPI World Collection Nail Lacquer are two affordable mail polishes that can be found at almost any grocery, drugstore, and super center. I love to try new and affordable nail polishes. It seems to be a ritual every week when I am at the grocery store. I dig through all the nail polishes and try to decide which ones to buy. This is how I ended up trying both Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish and OPI World Collection Nail Lacquer. When trying out a new nail polish I always look for a few qualities. The first quality would be how long the polish lasts without chipping or fading. Secondly, I look at the price. Finally when choosing a new nail polish, I look at the color selection. I bought cherry rain in the Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish and Belize it or Not in the OPI World Collection Nail Lacquer. I definitley give both nail polishes a thumbs up for great names for their colors.

Durability

Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish did not fair so well in the durability category. I did find that the same day I applied the Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish in Cherry Red that it chipped. Because I chose such a dark vibrant color I painted a clear coat on first, then applied two coats of the Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish in Cherry Red and the one final clear topcoat. This is the general procedure I have found when getting a manicure, so I do believe I gave the Maybelline Wet Shine every fighting change to stay put. Most of the rest for my nails did not chip, so I think that if you are very active with your hands during the day, you may find that it is better to go with a light more sheer color in the Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish line of colors.

The Belize it or Not in the OPI World Collection Nail Lacquer faired a little better. I applied this nail polish in the same manner as the Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish. It lasted two days before one nail chipped. After about four days I noticed that the color began to rub or fade away at the end of my nail. I have seen this before with other nail polishes. I added another coat of nail polish, but it wore away quickly where I was trying to cover up the original fading color. Overall though, it does seem that the Belize it or Not in the OPI World Collection Nail Lacquer did last longer on my nails.

Price

A bottle of Belize it or Not in the OPI World Collection Nail Lacquer will cost you about $7.00. A bottle of Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish in cherry red will cost you about $3.99. I will say that you can usually find coupons in the Sunday paper for Maybelline products, which makes that particular nail polish brand even more affordable. I guess the OPI World Collection Nail Lacquer costs a little more, but at least it stays put a little longer.

Color Selection

Both the Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish Versus OPI World Collection Nail Lacquer comes in a large selection of colors. The nail polishes in both lines range from clears, sheers, pastels, and dark vibrant color. It is definitely a tie between the Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish Versus OPI World Collection Nail Lacquer in the color selection category.

Overall I have to say that if you want a super affordable nail polish in a variety of color go with the Maybelline Wet Shine Nail Polish. For a longer lasting finish stick with the OPI World Collection Nail Lacquer.
