Meatloaf Recipes That Will Please the Family
If your kids like ketchup and cheese on hamburgers, this meatloaf has a similar flavor. Mix two pounds of hamburger with a third of a pack of saltine crackers. Add a small chopped onion, one egg, and a half of a can of tomato soup. Put a couple dashes of pepper in the bowl then mix well with clean hands. Bake at 325 degrees for an hour and remove from oven. Spread the remainder of the tomato soup on top of the meatloaf and sprinkle with an 8 oz package of shredded cheddar.
This recipe can also be made with diced green peppers. Bake at 300 for 20 more minutes. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
A similar recipe calls for most of the same ingredients but the topping is changed. Shape into loaf and put in well-greased pan. In a small bowl mix 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons prepared mustard and a third-cup of ketchup. Spread the mixture over the meatloaf and bake at 350 for an hour.
Another easy meatloaf requires a pound of hamburger (2 pounds for larger loaf), and an envelope of taco seasoning (2 envelopes for large loaf). Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Try this same recipe using chili seasoning mix rather than taco seasoning.
Use an envelope of dried onion soup mix for each pound of hamburger to make onion meatloaf. It’s delicious. Mix the dry soup with hamburger and bake at 325 for an hour. Remove and sprinkle with American or cheddar cheese and bake another 20 minutes. Cool slightly before slicing.
