My Thoughts on the Dirt Devil Quick Power Cordless Stick Vacuum

I just bought the Dirt Devil Quick Power CordlessStick Vac. I wanted a cordless, lightweight little vacuum that would assist me in keeping a heavily traveled rug area in my house clean and cleared up. My two boys and one golden retriever drag in bits of pine needles, leaves, dog hair, lint and other tiny debris that is endless on this particular rug. It’s a highly traveled area from the kitchen to the stairway leading to the bedrooms. Shoes are off in the house and we use slippers, but this one area seems to take a beating, with or without shoes. It just seems to be a magnet for every piece of lint or dirt.

I like this vacuum model because it’s a flashy red and very lightweight at five pounds. It’s very easy to push around on the wood floor or carpeting, and the on/off switch is at my fingertips on the handle. This model has the flip down handle for easy storage I guess, but that is really not useful to me, as I keep the handle always in the upright position anyway. What I love about this little vacuum is how easy it is to empty the dirt cup compartment. Easy snap on/snap off little gadget with a filter inside that is also easy to clean by just shaking it out. I love the red color, and the fact that it’s cordless and recharges itself easily with an AC adapter. It’s always ready to go because it keeps itself charged while sitting against my wall. The noise is minimal and not a concern at all. So all in all, I am pleased with this little vacuum except for one thing.

Here’s what I don’t like about this model. I’m disappointed in the suction power of the motor. I’m finding that I often have to run the vacuum over dirt and particles on the floor several times before it will pick it up. Sometimes I just hold the unit still over an area so it can do a better job of picking up the debris. Now I regret not buying a bigger model with more power in the motor. This motor is 7.2 volts. There is another cordless model called Extreme Power Stick with 14.4 volts that sells for $59.99 retail. The model I have sells for$ 29.99. Perhaps the bigger model would have been a better choice for me.

All in all, this is a perfect little vacuum for small areas and light foot traffic. It’s a good buy it that fits your needs. It has a 1 year warranty for parts and motor and you’ll find extra parts such as the dirt cup, adapter and filter on line for purchase at the company’s website.

There are extensive instructions included in the packaging, as well as a toll-free customer service number and a product registration card. I have discovered if I vacuum the problem rug more frequently, the little red Dirt Devil Quick Power Stick Vac does a great job. It’s easy and will do a great job for you, if the dirt or dust is not extensive.
