My Top 5 New Years Resolutions
2. Operate in faith – No matter how strong my belief, at some point; I tend to rely highly on what I see before me, through the eyes of flesh. In the New Year, it is my goal to rely on God like many of us rely on people. Because faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen; I understand that I have to believe before I can receive. I believe that God can change any outcome. No matter how strong the hold in our lives and regardless of how our situation looks at present; God is capable of bringing our best life yet to fruition. God can and will perform the unthinkable, if we would just put our trust in him.
3. Make my family more aware of my love for them – As we go through life, we tend to forget about those in our lives. Family time is placed on the backburner, due to the stress of our jobs and personal issues; among other things. We assume that our children, spouses and friends are convinced that we love them no matter what. However, that is not always the case. Though we think our feelings should be obvious to those in our lives, the words “I Love You” should be reiterated on a daily basis. There are so many people living out on the edge, because someone failed to tell them how they truly feel about them. It was assumed that a particular person would always be there and now they’re gone. Take the time, while there is time to tell your friends & family how much you care. In fact, there is some lonely person in need of a hug or kind word. We should all make 2006 a year of good deeds and acknowledgement of our fellow man.
4. Work on being a better wife and mother – While in the process of getting and staying on track spiritually, I intend to work on being an even better wife to my husband. When I took my vows, I took them before God and believe that if I operate according to what the word of God says, my marriage will become an unmovable mass. I believe that the favor of God will reign down on my husband and I like nothing we’ve ever seen. As a mother, it is my prayer that I will understand more fully what motherhood is all about. I understand that I am held accountable for my children and hope to train them up in the way that they should go; and pray that when they are old they will not depart from it. I love my children unconditionallyâÂ?¦the same as my father in Heaven loves me. I pray to gain a greater respect for my role as wife and mother.
5. Find my purpose through eyes of faith – In the New Year; I pray that God will reveal the exactness and totality of who and what I am. It is my prayer that God will reveal to me those things which he has for me. I seek to learn where God wants me to be in terms of career, self, matters of world views and improvement and my ultimate stride towards becoming more like him.
