Natural Gas Fireplaces
I love the look of an old fashioned fireplace but I hate many things about the wood burning fireplace. The biggest complaint I have is the mess. There are so many residues and ash built up in the fireplace and on the hearth that it takes a lot of time and effort to maintain.
There is no mess with natural gas fireplaces. These clean burning units are simple to maintain and you never have to worry about ash and dirt all over your hearth and floor. You also don’t have to worry about smoke and ash floating around in the air, either. I hate the idea of breathing this stuff in.
The ash and smoke that wood burning units bring me to the next reason that natural gas fireplaces are superior. They don’t smell. Some people say that they love the smell of a burning fire but in small doses. The soot and ash smells can be overwhelming in some spaces. Natural gas fireplaces emit no odors that can stick to your linens, curtains and clothing.
Then there is the problem of starting the fire and keeping it going. This is a time-consuming task that I used to dread every winter. Just getting the fire to ignite can take quite a bit of time. Nothing is more aggravating than returning to see your efforts smoldering away in a matter of minutes. I felt as if I had to baby sit the fire.
Natural gas fireplaces light with the flick of a switch and they keep burning until you turn them off. You never have to feed the flames because the gas does that for you. You also never have to worry about sparks flying out of the natural gas fireplaces. These sparks can be dangerous and damaging.
While the charm and character of a traditional fireplace is wonderful, I will opt for a natural gas fireplace any day. There are too many reasons to choose the latter. Natural gas fireplaces are efficient and easy to maintain. These units are clean, convenient as well as beautiful. You can have all of the beauty and charm of the traditional fire without the hassle.
