Nebraska Bar Exam: A Basic Guide

The Nebraka Bar Exam is formatted similarly to other states bar exams. It includes both multiple choice questions and essay questions. To prepare for this exam you will need to first gather appropriate study materials and secondly allow yourself enough time to adequately cover all of the topics that will be in the Nebraska Bar Exam. This article will help outline the information you will need to prepare for this most difficult exam.

QUALIFICATIONS

The state of Nebraska has several qualifications to sit for the Nebraska Bar Exam. The first requirement is that the candidate be of good moral character. Secondly the candidate must have graduated from an ABA approved law school, and they must have earned a JD or an LLB degree. The final requirement is that the candidate must take the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam and pass it with a score of at least 85 points.

To register to sit for the Nebraska Bar Exam you will need to download, print out, complete, and submit an application package. These can be found on the Nebraska State Bar Commission’s website.

THE EXAM’S FORMAT

The Nebraska Bar Exam spans two days. It is given in the city of Lincoln during the last week of February and during the last week of July. On the first day of the exam you will be given the Multistate Essay Exam, and on the second day of the Nebraska Bar Exam you will be given the Multistate Bar Exam, which consists of 200 multiple choice questions that deal with general legal topics and issues. You will need a composite score of at least 135 to pass the Nebraska Bar Exam.

On the first day of the Nebraska Bar Exam you will take the Multistate Essay Exam. To prepare for this section of the Nebraska Bar Exam you should study the following topics:
