Nightlife in Little Rock, Arkansas

Whether you come to Little Rock for business or nightlife, there’s something here for everyone. From heart-pounding dancing to unique cuisine, it’s all here. For Arkansas, Little Rock is a big city, and home to a little over 200,000. People from larger cities in the United States, and around the world view it as small town atmosphere – and that’s what we pride ourselves in. Friendly southern charm with foods and nightclubs reminiscent of big cities worldwide. All of my picks have websites listed in my resources, and all of them are open late.

Our first stop for Little Rock nightlife takes us to my personal favorite that has the best pizza I have ever tasted, and a nightclub in one – Vino’s Brewpub. They have the best New York style pizza outside of New York, made with fresh ingredients, and hand-tossed dough that’s made daily. Their menu has something for everyone. Vegetarians will also have no trouble finding a pie to ease their hunger pains. Hand crafted ales for the brew connoisseur, and live bands featuring some of the best talent around Arkansas for the music junkie. Vino’s is a must-see for anyone that loves great food, good beer and fantastic music.

For a nightlife hot spot with more grown up taste, check out Nu Restaurant and Lounge. With their chic metropolitan decor, and Global Fusion menu, the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing. There’s a lot of bang for your buck at Nu – with average price $30 and under. Nu also has a private dining room offering custom menus and a private bar, called the Blu Room. There is complimentary valet parking and live entertainment on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Nu is open late, and a stop worth making if you’re in the mood for fine dining.

If what you need are a few laughs, drop in at the Looney Bin. A comedy club that features both big name comics and an open mic night every other Wednesday night. The Looney Bin also features other acts like hypnotists for your entertainment. Not only is the Looney Bin a fantastic place to get a few cocktails and have a few laughs, it’s also a restaurant. With appetizers averaging around $5 and dinners around $10, your wallet and your appetite for fun will both be satisfied.

The Afterthought, a New Orleans-themed bar, located in a historical building in Little Rock has jazz music and a full drink menu. Their neighborhood atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. The adjoining restaurant, Vieux Carre, has everything. From sandwiches to entrees, the average price is around $20 and under, there’s no reason anyone would leave Vieux Carre hungry. Vieux Carre also has a complete wine list, and is a smoke-free environment. Well worth a trip if New Orleans style cooking is what you’re craving.

In a city as diverse as Little Rock, the Discovery Club stands out in the nightlife crowd. Live DJs spin the best in techno and house music as you dance the night away on a number of dance floors spread out among this giant club. Once you get inside the Discovery Club, you will find that it’s split off into smaller pubs and lounges. There are pool tables, video games, and bars strategically placed so that no matter where you are in Discovery, you’re close to anything and everything. Live drag shows, and Miss Gay America pageants add more flavor to this happening night spot. Discovery is not a strictly gay club, and people from all backgrounds are welcome to stop in for a few drinks and a lot of fun.

No matter what your style, Little Rock has a night spot that will suit you and make you want to come back for more. Great food and fantastic people are what makes Little Rock Arkansas a city worthy of being added to your list of places to vacation or just visit on a holiday or weekend.
