No Adult Content in Indian TV
The Indian TV will cease to show the adult content. We will only be able to see the soaps like the Hindi serials, news, bollywood movies and songs, etc. We will not be able to see raunchy music videos. Adult bollywood movies and songs are a strict no-no. All those marked ‘U’ will be shown only in TV. The television watching will become more a family affair. Parents will be able to watch things easily with their children. This protest of showing adult content on TV was advocated by Sushma Swaraj, previous broadcasting minister in India.
The need to ban the adult content in TV are as follows:
The hindi music videos of Rakhi Sawant and others are too much polluting the Indian minds. It is thought that they are crossing the limit. The music video of Britney Spears, Madonna etc. are also obscene.
The adult hindi movies like Jism are not fit to be seen in the prime time. Either these films will be pushed to night or banned.
There are complaints of the adult content of the English movies as well.
It was thought a blanket ban is necessary. But is this ban necessary. No country I have heard bans TV watching like this. TV watching is an entertainment. In abroad, there is no such discrimination. Are the children there becoming adulterated?
