Non-LDS Churches in Logan, UT

Newcomers and visitors to the beautiful and secluded Cache Valley in Utah may find it difficult to attend church if they are not of the LDS (Mormon) faith. For the Christian who is not particular about where he or she attends church, there are plenty of options; it is scarcely possible to go the length of a block without encountering an attractive and well-designed LDS meetinghouse surrounded by well-groomed lawns. But there are other faiths established in Logan, Utah, the main city in the Cache Valley, and they offer the prospect of a satisfying church-going experience for non-Mormon Christians.

The Maranatha Baptist Church is located at 395 S. Main in Logan. It can be reached at 435-753-7415. It is situated in a very large and beautiful building with stained-glass windows along the main thoroughfare through town. The people are welcoming, and the sermons preached are often very rousing, in fine Baptist tradition. Additionally, there is a Chinese Baptist mission and worship service, in addition to Bible study and a Children’s AWANA Bible club.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church is very conveniently located near Utah State University at 795 N 800 E in Logan (phone number: 435-752-1478). The church is quite small, but it is surrounded by lovely foliage and is housed in what appears to be a converted house. It has been painted to look quaint, in a European style, and makes an excellent backdrop for the weddings that are occasionally performed on the site. There is a small rectory as well. The services are cozy and intimate, as well as conducted in a comfortable chapel. It is possible to obtain all regular services, as confessionals are available regularly and mass is held at least four times a week.

Cache Valley Bible Church is a friendly place to hear good sermons and enjoy the company of fellows in Bible study. There are two Lutheran churches in Logan. Holy Trinity is a Missouri Synod church and located at 581 N 700 East in Logan (435-752-1453). It is welcoming and friendly, and the preaching is engaging. The other Lutheran church, an ELCA church, is the Prince of Peace Lutheran church. Located at 2045 N 800 E in Logan (435-752-7753), the church also contains the ELCA offices for the area. Additionally, it features a nursery and a Christian education class, as well as a campus ministry.

Finally, there is a fine Episcopalian church located at 85 E 100 N in Logan, right near the downtown shops. The church is very welcoming, and a member of the Anglican worldwide community, so others of Anglican churches will feel right at home.
