Oklahoma Bar Exam: A Basic Guide
In Oklahoma the Bar Exam is one of the last requirements that a Bar Candidate needs to meet before they are able to receive their bar certification and license to practice law. Because of this it is important for Oklahoma Bar Candidates to make sure that they not only allow themselves with enough time to study sufficiently for the exam, but it is also important that they study the right materials. QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify for the Oklahoma Bar Exam you only need to meet a few requirements. The first qualification is that the candidate has a law degree from an ABA approved law school. The second qualification is that the candidate be of good moral character. To meet this requirement you will need to undergo a criminal and financial background check. You will also need to be at least 18 years of age to take this exam. The final qualification is that the candidate takes the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam, and passes it with a score of at least 85 points.
REGISTERING FOR THE EXAM
To register to sit for the Oklahoma Bar Exam you will need to download, print out, complete, and submit an application package. These can be found on the Oklahoma Board of Bar Examiners’ website.

THE EXAM’S FORMAT
The Oklahoma Bar Exam is a two day event that is given in Oklahoma City during the last week of February and during the last week of July. On the first day of the Oklahoma Bar Exam you will be given sixteen essay questions. You will be given thirty minutes to answer each one. On the second day of the Oklahoma Bar Exam you will be given the Multistate Bar Exam. This exam is made up of 200 multiple choice questions. To pass this exam you will need to earn at least 135 out of 200 points on the MBE and earn a score of at least 75% on the essay questions.
