Colonial style was influenced in great part by the Europeans, and possesses the nostalgic old war feel. Colonial style cribs and nursery furniture are available in several more finishes unlike that of the traditional styles.

Contemporary style cribs and nursery furniture are definitely in style right now. Contemporary styles are some of the most elegant and simple of design. They will lend your nursery a very chic and simple feel. You will not find many contemporary style cribs in a dark finish such as the cherry and oak of the traditional styles. Contemporary finishes are usually lighter such as that of maple or aspen. The neutral finish on the contemporary styles are what set it apart from the other styles.

Last but not least come the treasured Shaker style furniture. Shaker furniture is a simple and beautiful style that dates back to early America. Shaker furniture was made with great pride and skill and was made to last. You will find smooth, solid and strong lines in the design of shaker furniture. This style of furniture us usually very plain, with little or not decoration. You will not normally find the intricate woodwork as with the Colonial style or the mystical spindles such as with the Traditional styles. Shaker furniture seems to stand out with its simple design and construction alone.
