Peppermint-Apple All-Natural Hand Soap Bars

Making all-natural hand soap can be fun and exciting, and you don’t have to do it alone! You can get your kids or a friend involved too. The quickest way to make all-natural hand soap, if you are a beginner, is to purchase a soap making kit. These kits can be purchased at stores like Wal-Mart or Michael’s. However, the following is a simple recipe on how to make all-natural bar soap:

Ingredients and Tools:

Glycerin

Soap melting machine

Peppermint Oil and Apple Oil or

Your favorite oil

Newspaper

Mold in heart shape cups or any that you like

Sea Salt Granules (optional)

2 drops Olive Oil (optional)

Olive Oil

Paper Towels

2 chopsticks

3 small medicine droppers

If this is your first time making all-natural hand soap, just relax, and get ready to have fun. First unfold several pieces of old newspaper out onto your counters to protect them. Plug in your soap melting machine to get it ready to melt some glycerin. Next, cut several squares of glycerin small enough to fit inside the soap melting machine. By the time you are finished cutting your squares the soap melting machine should be ready, if not let it sit for a couple more minutes. After the melting machine has warmed up, place the glycerin squares in it. Let the glycerin melt until 80 percent of it is in liquid form. To help the melting process along, take one chopstick and gently push any unmelted glycerin closer to the interior hotplate of the soap melting machine. Remember, even after you pour your first batch, you may still have some unmelted glycerin stuck to the sides and bottom of your soap melting machine. Next, put some Olive oil onto a folded paper towel, and rub this inside and around the mold cups. Try not to miss any spaces because this will help your soap slip out of the cups.

Then, fill one dropper with apple oil, and place 7 drops inside each mold cup. Take another dropper and fill it with peppermint oil, and then fill the same cups with about 3 drops each. Peppermint is strong so don’t overdue it. Next, take your newly melted glycerin and begin gently pouring it into the molds. Please be careful! Quickly take the other clean chopstick and stir the glycerin and oil around once, clockwise. At this time you can add two drops of Olive oil to your mold cups for good luck. Now, you can add a pinch of sea salt to the top of your molds. After this time, do not pick up or disturb your mold tray for about 20-30 minutes. After this time, you can now put your mold tray in a safe, dark, and dry place. Your Peppermint-Apple All-Natural Hand Soap will need to cure for about three weeks. After they have cured, place them on your bathroom or kitchen counter, and enjoy the fresh feeling and cent of Peppermint- Apple All-Natural Hand Soap Bars every time you wash.
