Perfect Lighting Fixtures that Make Your House Shine

Are you looking to replace your lighting or are you building a house and need to buy the perfect and unique light fixtures that will make your home shine? Before you even go shopping list the rooms you are looking to buy lights for. Remember bathroom and kitchen lights will be the brightest lights. These are the rooms that you will want to be able to use high watt bulbs. Here’s a standard list of rooms you will need lights for: Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room, Bathroom, Bedroom, Study or Office.

For the study or office, you will need to decide if you are using a room for a study or office to buy the appropriate lighting. A standard ceiling light will work with lamps. You may also want to design the furniture in the room.

For $122 you can buy a plain light from Cooper Lighting, 4 Light Mera Baroque Ceiling Mount Fluorescent Light from Lowe’s. It’s a fluorescent light that’s long. It’s not a light I would put in my kitchen it looks more like a light for a garage. The Home Depot has Hampton Bay 44 in track kit with three lights for around $50. These I like for the kitchen especially if you have a bar area. They look very modern as the 1 light spot light fixture. The spot light is $35 at Home Depot. Lowe’s has spot light fixtures for under $15. For an island in the middle of the kitchen I like the drop down lights. Home Depot has Hampton Bay 120V Direct Wire Pendant with Stone Shade for $35. This is a great deal. It is half price now at the $35. For the kitchen room light itself Lowe’s has a flush mount light fixture that is round and comes to a point in the center for $67. My picks are the round flush mount light fixture for the center of the room, and a track kit with 3 lights for the bar for around $50 and the drop down light for $35.

Dining Room lights can be a ceiling fan light to an extremely elaborate light. For a dining room I like something in the middle because the rest of my lights aren’t extremely elaborate. I prefer a light without a fan. For under $50 you can get a black 4 light chandelier that the bulbs remind you of candles. Since we chose lights for the kitchen, with a main light that comes to a point this look would blend well. Lowe’s also has a chandelier with the candle bulbs and then a light hanging from it that looks like the flush mount ceiling light. This is my choice for $169. If your dining room is completely separate and you don’t feel the need to match my choice would be Lowe’s Portfolio 9 light chandelier for $124.

For the Living room or family room I like a ceiling fan with a light. A 44 in. Hunter Fan with a light that matches the kitchen flush mount for $99 is a super choice. If you want to go with a fan light that doesn’t match the 52 in. Hunter Westminster brushed nickel for $99 is an incredible bargain. The light is 4 bulbs surrounded by glass.

For the Bedroom ceiling fans with lights are great. You can buy blue or pink fans for less than $100. These are great for kids’ rooms. Lamps and nightlights are especially good for children’s rooms these can be from $10-$50. For adults rooms reading lamps should be purchased for the nightstand. Reading lamps cost about $10-$20. Adult ceiling fans with lights can be purchased for less than $200.

A study or office could use a ceiling fan with lights as well. I would also buy a table lamp for under $20 at Wal-mart or Lowe’s for extra lighting. If it’s a study with a big desk I would put at least one lamp on if not two. I like Victorian lamps which will also match the kitchen light. If it’s a small room floor with a small computer desk I recommend a floor lamp with one or more lights on it. Portfolio makes a floor lamp with a light at the top and a spot light that comes off the side for under $40 at Lowe’s.

The bathroom light fixtures should be bright. The lights that would be my pick would be the wall lights that look like the track lights for the kitchen. These can be purchased at Lowe’s for under $150 and as little as $40. My choice would be the $40 to save the money and they look the most like the kitchen lights.

Remember that you should be able to utilize whichever lights you purchase for the rooms.
