Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Scrub vs Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub

A good face scrub is one of the quickest ways I know to clear away dull dead skin cells. I have tried many face scrub products in my life and Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Scrub and Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub are two of the most memorable ones. A good gentle face scrub should exfoliate the skin on your face gently while helping to both moisturize and smooth your skin. Your face scrub should never be left with overly dry skin that is tender to the touch.

Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Face Scrub and Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub are both quality products that can be bought online or at almost any regular department store in the mall. The best feature of both face scrub products is that they are meant for all skin types. I like this feature because my spouse likes to indulge in a little face care every once in a while and he has oily skin while I have dry skin. Both Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Scrub and Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub cost about $25, which is a little bit on the pricey side, but both have qualities that made them well worth the investment. Specifically the Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Scrub will cost you $25 while the Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub will cost you about $29.

How Well They Work

Since the whole point of a face scrub is to lift away dead skin cells and reveal a more youthful and smooth glow, this is probably the most important comparison of these two products. Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Face Scrub is fabulous at polishing away dead skin cells. Of the two I definitley think it is the more gentle on your skin. It has super moisturizing capabilities and always leaves my skin feeling soft. It has glycerin as a main ingredient, which is why your skin is left feeling so soft. I did not feel like my skin was too dry after using Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub, but it was noticeably dryer than when I used the Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Scrub. I think the Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub would be fabulous for anyone with exceptionally oily skin. I personally try to only use it in the summer months when there is a lot of moisture in the air. Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub is just too stringent for my dryer skin in the winter when the air is so dry.

Smell

While smell may not be a deciding factor when ultimately choosing your favorite face scrub, I personally find it to be an important feature. A great smelling product will have me thinking about it. A fabulous smelling face scrub product will have me chomping at the bits to use it again. Hands down Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Face Scrub is the best smelling face scrub product on the market. Every time I use it I breathe in so deeply to immerse myself in the smell. Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Face Scrub reminds me of cotton linen, almost like I am outside on a summer day hanging up clothes to dry on a line. Ok, I have never hung any clothing outside on a line, but it is similar to when you are folding your laundry fresh out of the dryer and you can’t believe it still smells so clean and good.

Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub-All Skin Types has a fresh smell that is both crisp and natural all a once. It is definitely not offensive, but just not as overwhelmingly clean smelling as the Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Scrub. It has a lovely earthy green tea smell that is great if you prefer products that are not overly perfumed.

When To Use

Both Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Scrub and Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub are gentle enough to use two to three times a week. Personally I like to use the Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Scrub once a week in the winter. In the summer when I am using different self tanner products I like to use the Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub on my skin before applying any self tanner to my face. I have never had a self tanner streak or look blotchy on my face.

Summary

Overall, for dryer skin I recommend the Philosophy Pure Grace Salt Scrub. I also recommend this product if you love super clean smelling facial products with lots of aroma. For oily to normal skin and a less perfumed smell invest in the Dior Exfoliating Face Scrub.
