Plano Texas Hot Air Balloon Festival
To this day when I see a hot air balloon drifting by, high above, it reawakens that same sense of wonder. That is why I am so thrilled about the Plano Texas Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival.
The festival will take place at Oak Point Park in Plano beginning on Friday September 19th and ending on Sunday September 21st. Below is a list of some festival highlights that you won’t want to miss.
Great Food and Souvenir Booths
With Funnel Cakes, giant turkey legs, ice cream, and just about anything else you could want, your craving for amazing festival style food will not be disappointed. If you’re a lover of fried green tomatoes or perhaps fried Snicker’s bars be sure to stop by the Fried What booth for a selection of fried foods so bizarre you’ll have to try it just to say you did.
For those of you that enjoy collecting souvenirs you can find booths offering hand stitched miniature hot air balloons, Jewelry, clothing, and much more.
Special Shows
If you’re an Elvis fan, you won’t want to miss the “Kraig Parker as Elvis” Concert. The festival will also host a street dance, an impressive parachute exhibition, and an amazing fireworks display. If live music is your thing there will be a concert on the main stage near the entrance. The festival also offers hot air balloon rides for $250.00 a person. However, the rides are not guaranteed. They are given at the discretion of the pilots and depend on the weather.
Hot Air Balloon Displays
Pictures and images can’t come close to capturing the thrill of watching hot air balloons inflate and lift from the ground to soar high above us in a magnificent display of sizes, shapes, and colors. The hot air balloon launch is one show you have to experience for yourself.
A giant tree with tropical birds, a towering energizer bunny, and a massive Schepps cow are just a few of the amazing shapes you’ll see in the hot air balloon special shapes presentation.
The count down from 10 has begun and thousands of festival goers join in. 3…2…1. The burners roar as more than thirty balloons illuminate the night. If there is one thing you must see at the Plano Balloon festival it is the balloon glow. There’s nothing else quite like it.
If you are looking for some great festival fun this fall, look no further than the Plano Texas Balloon Festival. There really is something here for everyone to enjoy.
