Practical Ways to Store Sets of Sheets

Sheets can be very difficult to fold, especially the fitted type. They can be equally as difficult to store, especially when they cannot be folded into perfect squares that fit neatly on linen closet shelves. Instead of stacking sets and hoping that they stay in place, keep them all together by using one or more of my easy storage methods. I have a king size bed, and my daughter has a twin bed, and I had to find practical ways to store our sets of sheets. They were taking up far too much space on my bedroom closet shelf, and they were becoming a mismatched mess.

Store Sets of Sheets in a Coordinating Pillowcase or Sham

If sheets seem to be taking over your closets and drawers, use more practical methods to store them. To keep the sets together and well contained, place them in a coordinating pillow case. Neatly tuck the opening under the fabric package. Complete sets will stay together, and they will look better no matter where they are stored.

Save Clear Plastic Zippered Pouches to Store Sets of Sheets

Clear plastic zippered pouches that are designed to hold blankets and comforters are worth saving for other purposes. They are handy containers that can be used to store sets of sheets. It will be easy to see the contents, and they will remain neatly packed until ready to use.

Use Sturdy Baskets for Sheet and Pillowcase Storage

If plastic zippered pouches and pillowcases are not your idea of a practical method of storage, try something a little more eye pleasing. Use sturdy baskets to store sets of sheets and pillowcases. Store lidded baskets out in the open, and place those without lids on shelves. Not only will they look like part of the decorating scheme, but they will serve as one of the most practical ways to store sets of sheets.

I am storing extra sets of sheets in pretty woven baskets in the open cubby holes above my bedroom closets. The baskets add style to the bedroom, and the cubby areas are the perfect place to store the sheets. Although I cannot reach them without standing on a stool, they are still readily accessible. The cubby holes are a practical place to store sets of sheets since I do not change the bedding every day. More importantly, moving them from the closet shelf opened up additional room for storing clothing, purses and more.
