Prevent Smelly Foot Odor
Another foot soaking that will prevent smelly foot odor is to soak your feet with thyme essential oil. Add a few drops of thyme essential oil to water and soak your feet everyday. The thyme oil helps to cut down on the smelly odor. Again, don’t use this remedy if you have open sores on your feet. This natural remedy may sound weird but try putting some deodorant on your feet to prevent smelly foot odor. If you have smelly feet, when you rub deodorant on your underarms rub some on your feet. However, don’t use any type of deodorant be sure it is a natural antiperspirant that contains sage or coriander, which are herbs that help to cut down on odors. Rub it on your feet once or twice a day until the odor goes away.
You can also use some baking soda to help prevent smelly odors. Powder your feet everyday until the smelly odor resides. Another natural remedy to prevent smelly foot odor is homeopathy. Use Silicea if your feet are cold, sweaty, yellow, and smelly. Use Graphite homeopathy if your feet smell whether they are sweating or not. Use Rumex if the sweat has a sour smell to it and try Staphysagria for cold feet that have a rotten egg smell. If your feet are warm and you tend to get sick after soaking them, try some Pulsatilla. For all these homeopathy treatments take 6C potency and stop using after the smelly odor is gone.
Finally, try mixing witch hazel with peppermint and geranium essential oils, which can help prevent smelly foot odor. Mix one cup of witch hazel with 20 drops of peppermint and 40 drops of geranium. Put the mixture in a spray bottle and shake well before using. Spray your bare feet in the morning and evening, but let the spray dry before putting on socks or shoes.
Changing your diet or at least reducing certain foods can help prevent smelly foot odor. Foods high in fat like, beef, pork, and other types of red meat can cause smelly foot odor. If you have smelly feet, try cutting done or totally eliminating these foods from your diet. However, always check with your doctor before changing diets and reducing or eliminating certain foods from your diet.
