Pro Evolution Soccer 6 and Fifa 07 Go 360 Exclusive
Amidst a rather uneventful Leipzig Games Convention today, Microsoft delivered a blow to Sony and Nintendo’s sports line up reports gaming blog Kotaku. It was announced that for one full year after their release, both Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 6 and EA’s Fifa 07 will be available exclusively on the Xbox 360. Microsoft Home Entertainment Europe VP Chris Lewis was more than frank about the situation, “The 360 owns football.” While this exclusivity is obviously good news for Microsoft in both Europe and North America it should come as especially good news to their Japanese branch which has been struggling to sell the 360 in that territory since its launch in December 2005. The Pro Evolution Soccer series, known in Japan as Winning Eleven, is a consistent best seller and should help to bolster sales of the hardware once it’s released.
