Product Review: Ace 10 Inch Table Saw with Stand
It comes with an easily detachable locking fence that gives adequate guidance for more precise cutting of set widths of less than 14 inches. Above that, the fence will have to be removed. It will saw through a 2×4 or plywood with equal dexterity. The slide bar comes with a guide that will assist with cuts of various angles. It does a decent job on 45 degrees when a trim saw isn’t available. The blade can also be rotated from side to side to provide additional flexibility when dealing with base boards or moldings.
The saw is light weight and even with the stand attached is relatively easy to relocate or transport. This product has the safety features that you would expect including a blade guard to keep small chips and dust from flying up. It also serves to help keep your body parts away from the blade.
When the saw is sitting on a level surface, the vibrations of the deck are minimal. One drawback of this saw is that because it is inexpensive, the sliding guide tends to wobble a bit in the track. If you are not careful on cuts made on materials too large to use the fence, it is easy to have a wavy edge on a longer cut.
I wouldn’t recommend this saw to the professional house framer because I think the demands of days of hard use would bring out the flaws of the cheaper construction. However, for the home user who needs a table saw for a project or two per month, this saw should fill the bill for you. The less than $100 price tag is very attractive for this type of user.
I have had mine long enough to realize that it can do everything that I want to tackle. It has performed flawlessly on my home improvement projects and other small jobs. This saw is easy to keep clean although I always take it outdoors for use. For inside use, it has an attachment that will allow a vacuum to be hooked up to siphon the sawdust away from the work area.
The stand is constructed to raise the deck to an easy work level without causing back strain. The legs come with openings to allow attachment to a permanent location if desired. Also, the stand can be detached and the deck attached to a workbench with bolts.
