Product Review: Easy Off BAM

I do more stove top cooking than baking, and I enjoy cooking all year long. During the summer I was gifted with a nice set of stainless steel pans. I really like these pans because they are shiny, and cook well.

Last month I was cooking macaroni for my children and left the noodles cooking while I went to the phone. Imagine my surprise when I came back to the kitchen and discovered a scorching pot. There was thick smoke, and it smelled like burnt rubber. I quickly turned the stove off and cursed myself for removing the smoke detector. I tried to scrap all the noodles out but the bottom of the pan was completely black and looked charred. I was in a hurry to go to work and decided to place the pan in my oven and scrub it when I returned home.

I needed to bake a finger food to take to the boyscouts today and was surprised to find the forgotten pan in the oven. For one month this charred pan has set in the oven. I decided the best course of action was to buy a product designed to take off baked on foods. I went to Walgreens and found a bottle of Easy Off BAM on clearance. I got it for 0.79 after using a $1.00 off coupon. The bottle indicated that it was a power cleaner, and degreaser for smears, baked on foods, and grease. I use my stovetop a lot so I decided this would be the perfect product because I could use it in so areas of the kitchen. The bottle suggest several areas of usage:

Range hoods
pots & pans
stove tops
stainless steel
microwave interiors
appliances
kitchen floors
counter tops
grills
hubcaps
garden furniture
bicycles

I followed the directions and turned the nozzle to on. The food particles were stuck on so there was nothing to remove from the pan and the pan was already cool. I sprayed the bottom of the pan and noticed how the foamy spray quickly covered the burned on food. I swirled the pan and saw that there were already pieces of the charred debris floating in the foam. I let the pan soak for 30 minutes then washed it under tap water. I was so surprised the pan came out sparkling clean. My heart was thumping so loud. I dreaded telling my mother I had burned up one of the pans she gave me. I quickly used a clean dishrag and detergent to wash the pan and rinsed thoroughly.

I am so glad to find a cleaning product that truly removed burned on food particles. I sprayed my stovetop and wiped it sparkling clean. The inside of the microwave sparked after a quick wipe down. Greasy mildew wiped off very easily. I am convinced that I have found a new cleaning product that will be used frequently in my household. It is perfect to have on hand for holiday, or year round clean up.
