Product Review: Greased Lightning

I don’t know about you, but I hate cleaning. I hate how long it takes, and the nasty smell of cleaning solutions. But most of all, I hate how cleaning takes me away from the things I love to do, and unfortunately for me, I’m kind of a neat freak. I can’t stand to see stains or grime in my tub, or dirty dishes in the sink. God forbid there’s a stain set in my laundry. Sometimes, I find myself wishing I lived in the world of the Jetsons, in some totally automated household where I could just press a button and have all these little robots completing all of the unpleasant little tasks necessary for running a home. With that being said, it’s wonderful when I can find a product that allows me to cut the time I spend cleaning in half, so I can get back to living life. Thankfully, that’s what I’ve found in Greased Lightning.

Made by Home Care Labs in Lawrenceville, GA, Greased Lightning advertises itself as a multi-purpose cleaner and degreaser, and cleaning and degreasing is exactly what it does. Not only does it clean, but it cuts your cleaning time in half. One of the best things about Greased Lightning is that you can spray it on what you want to clean, leave it there, and go on to do something else. Greased Lightning sets in to the stain and lifts it into the suds, making it so easy to just come back and wipe the dirt and grime away later. I can lift the stains in the shower and in my laundry simultaneously, while I make dinner. What’s even better is that I don’t have to spend extra time scrubbing at all; Greased Lightning takes away all of that extra work. For example, I can simply spray the tub and shower walls, leave the suds sitting for about twenty minutes, and then come back and just wipe the area down with a soft sponge. Greased Lightning does cut my cleaning time in half, but it surely doesn’t clean out my wallet. A 32 fl.oz. bottle can be found at Dollar General for about two dollars. While gas prices continue to soar, it’s nice to know that I don’t have to budget my funds just to by cleaning supplies. And with all of the things you can safely clean with Greased Lightning, just having the one bottle to meet most of your cleaning needs really cuts down on the different types of cleaners you need to buy, saving money and storage space as well.

It’s so easy to incorporate Greased Lightning into your house-cleaning regimen. Each day, I find new ways to use it. Here are a couple of ways that I use Greased Lightning in my home.

Removing Stains in Laundry

Greased Lightning is an amazing laundry pretreatment. It’s safe for most fabrics, and won’t bleach or fade your clothing. I’ve used Greased Lightning to lift some really tough stains, including blood, ink, and red wine, and the result is great; you can’t even tell the stain was there. Greased Lightning as a stain remover, spray the stain you want to remove about three times and let the garment sit for about ten minutes. Then, all you have to do is throw the garment in with the rest of your laundry and wash.

Stove Cleaning

Having trouble getting that marinara or grease spot off your stovetop? Just spray Greased Lightning on your stovetop when you’re finished cooking, and let it sit for about five minutes. Then just wipe the stovetop down, and you’re done.
