Products to Keep Your Grill Clean

Each summer people spend time grilling. While this is a fun activity, the cleanup that comes afterwards isn’t. There is grease, burnt on food, and even pieces of food that fell through the grate to clean up. This is enough to make people avoid cooking out more than a few times a year. Other people simply allow their grill to become covered in grease and burnt on food. This is not only unsanitary, but it prevents you from getting grill marks on your food as well. Luckily, there are easy solutions to this problem.

The first solution is to use aluminum foil on your grill. Now I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that this will prevent the smoky tasty that comes from grilled meats. Well, there’s even a solution to that problem. Simply poke holes in the aluminum foil. This allows the fat to drip onto the charcoal, or propane, and make smoke. The aluminum foil will help to prevent foods from getting stuck to the grill which will keep your grill clean. It will also prevent foods from falling through the grate.

The second solution is to use a non-stick cooking spray that is made for grills. A spray will keep foods from sticking, which will make it much easier to clean. You can also use oil, but make sure you choose oil with a high smoke point or it may burn.

Once the cooking is over, you will still have to clean your grill. There will always be something that stuck and there will always be grease. The only way to prevent this all together is to cook in a skillet and if you’re going to do that you might as well cook inside. Two great products that you can use to clean your grill are Grate Chef grill wipes and the battery-operated grill brush sold by Improvements.

The Grate Chef grill wipes do an amazing job cleaning the gunk off your grill grate, but you can also use these to clean the inside of your grill as well. These are extremely easy to use and very affordable, costing only $3.49 for 6 wipes.

The battery-operated grill brush sold by Improvements costs around $25 and takes the work out of cleaning your grill. The battery-operated brass bristle brush removes burnt on food and there is even a built-in scraper for foods that are really tough to remove. This gadget does take 8 “AA” batteries, but this is a great way to clean your grill, plus it would also make a great gift for the man in your life.
