Puzzle Accessory Review: Puzzle Stow and Go
The Puzzle Stow and Go is made by Ravensburger. It made for puzzles up to 1500 pieces. The mat size is 46 x 26 inches. I purchased it in toy section or Wal-Mart but you may also purchase it on the company’s website for $16.99.
At first glance this looks strange compared to other puzzle mats and boards I have used. After opening the box I found a black mat with slightly sticky lines on it. There was also a long inflatable tube and two straps. I was a little confused at first and didn’t see how this would work. I was also worried about the puzzle getting stuck to the lines and not coming off. I decided to try actually putting the puzzle together on the mat and see if it would be a safe from my kids.
The directions say to spread the mat on a flat surface. Start your puzzle about 8 inches from the edge of the puzzle mat. When you are ready to store your puzzle first check to make sure none of your puzzle pieces are overlapping. Then inflate the tube and place on either end of the mat. Roll the mat over the tube while keeping the mat taut. After the mat is rolled around the tube fasten the elastic traps on each end of the mat and tube. Then store your puzzle.
I used this product with a puzzle in progress. I was very pleased. I tried shaking the tube, dropping it and allowing my child to carry it around the house and not a single piece fell out of the rolled mat. After unrolling the mat to check the pieces I found they all stayed in place and none of the puzzle came apart. The only worry I have with this product is that it did not come with patches in case the tube gets a hole.
The Puzzle Stow and Go is an excellent product for anyone who loves puzzles. This would make a great Christmas or birthday present for both children and adults. I recommend this product for anyone who loves putting together puzzles. It’s a really great product for households with children.
