R/C Boating Clubs in Washington

R/C Boating Clubs have grown in popularity, in part by the easy (and nearly always free) instructions on how to get started in the sport. You’ll almost always learn something new and will meet people that are interested in the same things that you are. New friendships, and more reasons to get down to the lake, will spur your interest in R/C boating more if you are a member of a Boating Club.

Joining a boating club will always get you better access and information about upcoming exhibit matches and races in your area. Races tend to either be sponsored by boating clubs, or at a lake that is used by a boating club. This way, by being a member, sometimes you can even score discounted entry fees for the race.

R/C boats are still one of the easiest ways to get into the hobby, more so than planes, but boating clubs are harder to find. Access to a lake or pond is key; where as with a R/C car club all you need is access to a square of earth, or with a flying club just access of a clearing with little or no tress. Being that there may be only a few really good lakes and ponds in a state, there are fewer boating clubs. However, these boating clubs will have more members since there are so few of them, and you will reap the benefits of a larger club.

Washington is blessed to have five really good Boating Clubs, with something for everyone in regard to the type of boating club it is. This directory will tell you the name of the club, the website address, and the type of club that it is. Contacting the group, you’ll need to tell them the type of boating you’re interested in and possibly arrange to meet with them on their next upcoming scheduled meeting. That way you can meet the people before you commit to join.
