Raleigh, NC’s Best Sports Bars

Raleigh, NC is home to a Stanley Cup championship hockey team, NC State basketball and several baseball teams. Raleigh residents love to go see live sporting events, but when the team is away its good to have a great bar to go to. Here are a few of the best bars in Raleigh to catch a sporting event.

Woody’s
205 Wolfe St
Raleigh, NC 27601

Woody’s is a great sports bar to go to if you work downtown and are looking for somewhere to catch the game right after work. They have a huge back room full of televisions as well as seven or eight smaller TVs in their bar area. The food is always very reasonably priced, and if you are going to catch a game after work appetizers are half off from 4:30 to 6:30 which is always a plus.

Champs
Triangle Town Ctr
Raleigh, NC 27601

If you are over in the North Raleigh area and are looking for a place to catch the game then Champs can be a great place to go. Champs has a ton of seating, so if you want to watch the game with a large group of people then this can be a great place to do it. There are several large screen televisions positions throughout the bar and several smaller televisions as well. Champs has a pretty extensive menu, so you can have a decent dinner while you watch the game.

Stool Pigeons
410 Glenwood Ave
Raleigh, NC 27603

I actually went to Stool Pigeons a few times during the hockey season to watch the Hurricanes away games. Stool Pigeons is located in Raleigh’s Glenwood South and has a virtual wall of televisions with three very large televisions surrounded by several slightly smaller ones. When I would go there to watch hockey we would always get a table near the large wall. No matter how many people came in after us, or where someone would walk or stand I could always see the television and have a good view of the game.

Napper Tandy’s
Glenwood Ave
Raleigh, NC 27601

Napper Tandys opened up at 9am during the world cup in order for people to be able to come and drink and watch the game. Located near Glenwood South, Napper Tandy’s has an excellent menu and can be a fun place to catch the game, even if it is happening at nine in the morning.
