Raleigh’s Barbeque Restaurants
Barbecue Lodge

Barbeque lodge serves down east style chopped pork barbeque. In addition to barbeque they also serve some fantastic fried chicken, a few seafood options, and home cooked vegetables and desserts. They have a sit down part of their restaurant as well as a take out portion. The take out area has a separate entrance and staff, which can make it easy to pick up your meal and be on your way.
Clyde Coopers Barbeque
109 E Davie St
Raleigh, NC
(919) 832-7614
Clyde Coopers is a Raleigh barbeque restaurant that has been around forever. Actually the barbeque restaurant has been around since 1938, and is considered now to me a Raleigh “landmark. Clyde Coopers has coarsely chopped pork barbeque as well as sliced pork barbeque available. The sauce they use on their barbeque is a vinegar base, which is pretty tasty. They also have ribs, chicken and other menu options available. They have a decent about of inside seating, as well as an old style lunch counter. Clyde’s is a must visit whenever you make a trip to downtown Raleigh. It’s a great way to take a look into Raleigh’s past, while being surrounded by Raleigh’s future.
The Q Shack
4120-135 Main at North Hills St
Raleigh, NC
(919) 786-4381
Unlike most barbeque resturants that specialize in a particular type of barbeque, the Q shack has any and everything you could possible want. They serve barbeque with Texas, and Western Carolina sauces. They also have a huge selection of ribs, and chicken items and burgers and baked potatoes. The Q shack does a great job catering larger events, so if you are looking to get a huge amount of barbeque for a picnic, or a sporting tailgating party then they may be a great place to visit. The variety here makes them an excellent selection for larger groups.
