Reality TV Show Idea: America’s Worst In-Laws

It’s the dreaded word, every couple fears themâÂ?¦yes, I am talking about in-laws! It seems that every married couple has a story (or several) to tell about their in-laws and the way they are treated. From the nit picking and nagging to the down right manipulative natures the horror stories are endless.

“Americas Worst In-Laws” is a highly amusing concept that shows and in depth look at the life of selected married couples when their in laws stay with them.

The couple’s house will have cameras in every room and sensitive microphones are placed every where throughout the house. This surveillance equipment will pick up every word that is uttered behind their backs by the brutal in-laws.

Don’t you ever wonder what is said behind your back when you leave a room? Or if the food you have prepared really got eaten? Or whether they think your house is clean enough? These questions can all be answered.

Temper should flare when married couples have to say in the same home for an entire weekend, especially when staged problems erupt inside the home. For example, springing a pregnancy announcement, an adoption announcement, among various disasters around the house.

BUTâÂ?¦adding one more piece of coal to this fireâÂ?¦what if both (all) sets of in-laws were in the same house? Would the husband’s in-laws battle the wife’s in-laws? Yes ladies and gentlemen this would be drama! Of course there could be a psychiatrist on call incase the couples start going out of their minds.

Imagine for a moment what dinner at the table would be like. Or, what about all the things that are said when the lights go out and every one s in their rooms, can you imagine what will be said? And of course the ‘all important’ time with the remote control, who would win the broadcast battle.

Capturing the real side of people and their behaviors can not only hysterically funny but also quite enlightening. Finding out what the worst in-laws are really thinking can prove to be entertaining. Are they holding back other rude remarks or are they finding anything and everything to complain about�either way, the viewers at home will get to find out.

Because everyone can relate to this issue the future popularity of this particular reality show will undoubtedly be a hit.

To step up this reality show just a bit we could even get the viewers at home involved. Each week the audience gets to vote on the worst in laws and at the end of the season and all votes the winner of the “worst” title and the married couple who unfortunately belongs to the in-laws gets to go on a “retreat” vacation. This retreat can be designed to help the family overcome the tension and learn to get along.

This will be a very humorous yet dramatic reality show that will make every couple either be thankful that their in-laws are not as bad as the ones they see on TV OR it will make them enter their own family to be involved in this televised experience.
