Reception Ideas for Your Wedding Guests

The wedding day is literally a blur for many brides. There is so much to do, nerves begin to unravel and it almost seems as if the entire event is dangling by a thin string that can break at any second. Things seem to calm down quite a bit during the reception. However, everything happens so fast that many brides find that the reception has passed before they realize and they come to recognize that they barely had an opportunity to interact with their guests.

A bride’s visit with each guest is brief and many guests may not have the opportunity to say everything they would like beyond good wishes. There is a simple solution that allows guests to leave a heartfelt message for the bride and groom. The messages also serve as wonderful keepsakes as well.

Each guest has the opportunity to write a message to the bride and groom. The bride selects stationary that the guests use to write their message. The bride may also choose to include envelopes as well. The little notes are placed in a decorative box which is opened later. The bride and groom enjoy the little notes from their loved ones at a later date.

Many people would instinctively want the stationary to be placed right at the entrance of the reception hall. This way, the guests can write the note right after signing the guestbook. This is a viable option, but the guests may tend to write notes hastily if there is a line. The ideal notes should be well thought out and personal.

Another option is having the stationary placed under or near the favors. This placement encourages the guests to follow through with the request and it allows the guests to write the messages at their leisure.

Waiting is difficult for many of us, but it is a good idea to resist the urge to read the notes right away. A patient bride and groom may choose to wait for their fifth anniversary to open the box. Waiting may be difficult, but the notes will have more sentimental significance with the long wait.

Other newlyweds may opt to open the box of notes on their first wedding anniversary. The bride may be anxious to include some of the messages in a scrapbook that just can’t wait four more years. The messages will still carry sentiment without the painful wait.

The bride and groom may find treasures in these little notes given by their loved ones. They have the benefit of reading the loving thoughts and wishes for years to come and this may be the most precious wedding gift of all.
