Review: Coleman RoadTrip LXE Grill

With summer just around the corner, grilling season is upon us. Being able to cook outside is a great alternative to cooking in a hot kitchen all summer. There is a great variety of food that can be grilled and it will have a different flavor than it usually does when cooked indoors. The Coleman RoadTrip LXE Grill is a great portable grill for people who like to travel or do not have a lot of room on their property. It can be purchased at Target for about $215.

The stand and wheels fold up in seconds to make transporting it quick and simple. I fold mine up and store it in the garage when I am not using it so that it does not take up space on the deck. There are detachable trays on both sides. I really like this feature because it gives me plenty of space to set plates and cooking tools.

The grill features 20,000 BTUs so it cooks hot and fast. I have been using it for a couple months in the northeast and we were able to grill in the snow one evening because it has so much power.

The RoadTrip LXE has an InstaStart electronic ignition. The grill ignites with a simple press of the button. No matches are required for starting it so I feel comfortable letting my teenagers use the grill.

The grill is very easy to keep clean. It has an open flame drip through grill system which allows all the grease to drip down rather than sticking to the surface. There is a slide out drip tray to catch all the drippings from landing on the sidewalk. It is very easy to remove and dump out. I rinse the tray out after every use and it stays good as new. The plates also come off so they are easy to bring in the kitchen and wash off.

I am impressed by the way this little grill cooks. It heats up evenly so that it is able to cook all of the food at the same rate. This grill can do anything that a full size grill would do for less money and less space.

I recommend this grill to anyone who is looking for a convenient way to do some cooking outdoors this summer. Regular grills can require a lot of work in set up and maintenance but I have never had a problem with mine.
